 Expeto is providing Portland General Electric (PGE) with a private wireless network that covers over 4,000 square miles in both urban and rural areas in the state of Oregon. The network will include over 250,000 grid elements and run on a mixture of public LTE and 5G networks, managed by Expeto’s NeXtworking™ platform that treats the network like an SD-WAN. Expeto is a software-only company, based in Canada, that uses radios from multiple vendors. The network is expected to improve the resiliency of PGE’s grid and reduce outage times.
