Petronas, the Malaysian energy company, has achieved a successful implementation of a private  5G network at its Regasification Terminal Sungai Udang, located in Melaka, Malaysia. This groundbreaking network marks the pioneering utilization of 5G technology for enterprise purposes.

“As we embark on this transformative journey, it’s crucial to acknowledge the integral role cutting-edge technologies play, 5G’s fast connectivity, low latency, and capacity to handle massive data flows will empower our industries to innovate, compete and excel on a global scale,” said Deputy Prime Minister, Fadillah Yusof.

The introduction of the Petronas 5G Private Network paves the way for enhanced collaboration among the government, private sector, and academia to fully harness the capabilities of 5G technology. It’s worth noting that Petronas is entirely owned by the Malaysian government.
