Mavenir Builds a Smart City in Thailand for Keeping Citizens Informed

Private Network: 5G Open RAN mmWave

A smart city, Ban Chang, is being developed with local partners NT and 5GCT and American companies Mavenir and Cisco. The city lies midway between Pattaya and Bangkok, the two largest cities in Thailand. Roads link it to the newest and the most advanced U-Tapao International Airport in Pattaya,  and the Map Ta Phut Industrial Zone, a large industrial park in Map Ta Phut in Rayong Province.  The project will aggregate local government data from IoT sensors, drones, and other external sources for city management.
