Application: Industry 4.0, IoT, AR/VR, robotics
Ecosystem: USCellular
Private Network: 5G
KPMG has partnered with USCellular to bring the power of 5G connectivity to their 30,000 square foot Chicago Ignition Center. The Ignition Center specializes in developing real-world simulations to test applications using Industry 4.0 concepts like smart manufacturing, connected warehouses, and the Internet of Things (IoT). The ultra-responsive private 5G network will enable technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, augmented and virtual reality, and autonomous robotics to be leveraged in new ways.
Initial use cases at the Center are focused on building the smart factories, warehouses, and supply chains of the future, where every sensor, device and machine is interconnected. The upgrades allow KPMG to experiment with new 5G-enabled solutions for their manufacturing, distribution, and logistics clients.
“The future of Industry 4.0 and supply chain management will increasingly involve digital technologies and solutions designed to transform the manufacturing industry by providing an integrated experience between public and private cellular networks. Upgrading to a private 5G network with USCellular at our Chicago Ignition Center will help us and our manufacturing clients as they experiment with emerging technologies,” said Greg Corlis, principal in KPMG’s Emerging Technology group.
KGPM also has Ignition Centers in Atlanta, Denver, New York, and Washington, DC.
