Vertical: Railway

Application: Improve safety, increase operational efficiency

Ecosystem:  HFR

Private Network: 5G

HFR has announced the successful implementation of their my5G solution for the Japanese Railway. This end-to-end private 5G solution aims to enhance safety and improve operational efficiency.

The primary objective of this deployment was to proactively prevent accidents by leveraging cameras and artificial intelligence (AI) image recognition, allowing for real-time monitoring of railway and cabin conditions, enabling efficient resource management for continuous safety monitoring, and proactive maintenance optimization.

my5G utilizes high-power base stations strategically placed along railway lanes, providing seamless 5G communication services to both railway tracks and stations. It ensures uninterrupted 5G connectivity, even when trains are operating at their highest speeds, by effectively managing data transmission between network terminals and trains.

“Reflecting upon the successful completion of another HFR private 5G deployment, we are proud to have assisted in advancing the level of safety at these mission-critical railway sites,” stated Han Jae-hyuk, Head of HFR’s Global Business Division. “As a follow on to this project, we expect that HFR’s my5G deployments will continue to expand by meeting specific connectivity requirements of various private businesses throughout Japan.”
