Jacto, a Brazilian multinational corporation with a strong presence in manufacturing, is deploying the first private 4G/5G network for the agricultural manufacturing industry in the country. The 96,000 square-meter Smart Factory in Sao Paulo, Brazil will initially operate an automated painting system, autonomous vehicle handling, and advanced training center.
The network will use Nokia equipment and operate on the 700 MHz band for 4.9G/LTE and the 3.7 GHz band for 5G.
“The new plant will serve both domestic and foreign markets, with product lines for spraying, fertilizing, planting, harvesting coffee and sugar cane, in addition to precision agriculture, digital technology and autonomous vehicles, said Fernando Gonçalves, President at Jacto.
