Automakers Collaborate with Ericsson and Unikie to Save Space with Automobile Production

Auto factory

Vertical: Automobile Manufacturing

Application: Parking cars

Ecosystem: Ericsson, Unikie

Private Network: 5G

Ericsson has installed a 5G Stand Alone private network at a test facility in Turku, Finland, with software development company Unikie installing their proprietary software for autonomous operations to enable factory parking and valet parking. Currently completed automobiles in a factory are driven to a parking lot before leaving the factory grounds for delivery. With the network providing low latency and reliable connectivity, the cars can be remotely controlled by Unikie’s software, parked by remote control more accurately, saving parking space by up to 20%, saving space, and increasing employee safety.
