Ecosystem:  Czechia T-Mobile

Private Network: 5G

The Continental display solutions plant in Brandýs nad Labem, Czechia, a ten-minute drive from Prague, has deployed a private 5G network with the aid of Czechia T-Mobile. The network will use eight access points and over 1,000 devices in the 5,000 square meter location.

The network aims to enhance the digitization of production by accelerating communication among staff, machinery, and devices like sensors, manufacturing robots, and self-driving transport vehicles.

“The production of complex display solutions for vehicle cockpits requires innovative technologies already today. The challenges of manufacturing high-tech products of the highest quality and in large quantities will continue to grow in the future. In line with our mega factory strategy, we are therefore systematically focusing on state-of-the-art production. With the introduction of a private 5G network at our location in Brandýs nad Lab in Czechia, we have now reached a significant milestone on the road to the digital factory,” said Thomas Ebenhöch, head of Operations in the User Experience business area at Continental Automotive.

The Brandýs nad Labem facility has over 2,200 employees and produces a variety of parts for the automotive industry, including radios, roof modules, multimedia systems, and on-board instruments.
