Yakama Nation, a tribal government serving residents and businesses on tribal lands, was struggling with a deficient 5GHz wireless network that couldn’t adequately support high bandwidth demands across their large coverage area. Dissatisfied with their current service provider’s solution, they turned to Last Mile Gear, a wireless equipment specialist, to design a scalable, high-performance network upgrade.

Yakama Nation teamed up with Last Mile Gear to design a wireless broadband solution centered around Cambium Networks’ technology.

Last Mile Gear deployed Cambium’s CBRS access points and subscriber modules. This provided the features needed to improve network capacity, stability and customer connectivity rates across Yakama Nation’s territory, including Increased transmit power, and high scalability to accommodate more clients.

Performance metrics show the new network has significantly enhanced the user experience compared to the previous solution. Yakama Nation can confidently deliver fast, stable internet and equitable access to digital resources for all its constituents.
