In a milestone development for Bahrain’s telecommunications landscape, Batelco has partnered with Nokia to deploy the kingdom’s first private 5G network at Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), one of the world’s largest aluminum smelters. This strategic initiative marks a significant advancement in industrial connectivity solutions within the region.
The newly implemented network will support Alba’s digital journey by enabling advanced industrial applications that require reliable, high-speed, and low-latency connectivity. The deployment comes as part of Alba’s broader digital transformation strategy, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and maintaining its competitive position in the global aluminum industry.
