Private Network: 5G

Embratel, a Brazilian telecommunications company, and the Suape Port Authority have successfully implemented the first 5G standalone private network in the Latin American region. The network was installed at the Suape Complex in the northeastern state of Pernambuco, Brazil, and covers an area of approximately 13 square kilometers. The private network is expected to provide better connectivity, improved security, and increased productivity for the port’s operations. It will enable real-time monitoring of cargo and equipment, remote control of cranes, and automated vehicle operation. The private 5G network will operate in the 3.5 GHz band and will also support the development of new digital solutions for the port, such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things. The project is part of a broader effort by Embratel to expand its 5G network across Brazil and develop new applications for the technology in various industries.
